Flight Centre has teamed up with Channel 7’s ‘Sunrise’ to make television history by taking the breakfast show around the world in five days.

Organised by the agency group’s ‘Round the World’ experts, the ultimate breakfast adventure will see Kochie, Sam, Nat, Beretts and Eddy carry out their daily TV show duties while visiting Dubai, London, New York, Niagara Falls and Cancun in one week.

According to Kochie, the challenge has never before been attempted by any other television show and will set a record when completed.

So what does the challenge entail?

The journey kicks off on Monday when the show will brought to Aussies live from Dubai’s Burj Al Arab. The team and crew (all up 25 people) will showcase pre-filmed visits to Dubai’s Mall and the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.

On Tuesday, the team will travel to London where the show will be done from the banks of the Thames overlooking Tower Bridge. On Wednesday the journey continues to the US where they’ll air the show from the city that never sleeps, New York.

Straight after that it’s on to Niagara Falls in Canada for Thursday’s show. Then Friday, for the final whistle stop on the Sunrise world tour, the group hosts the ultimate party from Cancun, Mexico.

Sunrise Executive Producer Michael Pell said broadcasting three hours live from five countries will be the biggest ‘logistical challenge’ faced by the show yet.

“If we can pull it off, it will make history and provide a spectacular week of viewing.”

Additionally, it will expose millions of Sunrise viewers to the five destinations and entice Aussies to book more leisure travel – an area Flight Centre is hoping to stimulate after last year proved to be a flat year for leisure travel.
