Flight Centre tweaked its virtual Travel Agent, Aunt Betty, by giving her the ability to help travellers create their dream trip to Europe.
The online booking site, unveiled in January this year, has so far allowed travellers to search through air and hotel deals as well as book packages.
However, now users can turn to the 46-year-old virtual consultant to compile their dream trip to Europe.
Much in the same way retail or home-based Agents work, the consumer goes in with an idea for an overseas trip, which the website then builds into an ideal itinerary.
During the itinerary-building process, the website takes into account personal preferences for history, culture, night life, nature, food and more as well as trip type, duration, starting and finishing points, places of interest and ground transportation.
According to Aunt Betty’s General Manager, Joell Ogilvie, the ‘Trip Planner’ tool is “the perfect addition” to offer users a “one-stop online platform to build the framework for a hassle-free overseas holiday”.
“It is an exciting addition to the Aunt Betty suite of tools that offer the very latest in web search and booking technology, backed by the personal touch of traditional travel agents if required.”
