Clients will be able to experience Australia and New Zealand in a completely new cultural and responsible way on G Adventures’ first National Geographic Journeys down under.
The travel company today launched three new trips in Australia and New Zealand featuring unique elements only available through its relationship with National Geographic.
G Adventures Founder Bruce Poon Tip told KarryOn that the new partnership with the research company gives travellers access to the brand’s 125 years of exploration and studies.

Together, they’ve created what Poon Tip described as unique experiences delivered through National Geographic’s rare artifacts, experts and on-site facilities.
“They have all kinds of content we can access for our trips that no one else can.”

So what does this mean for the new Australian and New Zealand trips?
It means your clients can visit James Cook University Research Aquarium for a behind-the-scenes look at the research undertaken there – a tour which is completely exclusive to National Geographic Journeys travellers.

They can also spend time with the indigenous Jirrbal people in Tully, before cruising the Hauraki Marine Park in New Zealand with a crew of biologists and conservationists in search of dolphins, whales and seabirds.
Other highlights include taking a walk with a local Aboriginal guide through the Daintree Rainforest, a scenic trek to Bridal Veil Falls and cross New Zealand’s Southern Alps on the TransAlpine train.
“With exclusive looks into places like the James Cook University these trips are like no others you can take in the world.”
Belinda Ward, G Adventures Australia and New Zealand Managing Director
“We are especially proud of the new National Geographic Journeys in Australia and New Zealand which allow Aussie and Kiwi travellers, and those from further abroad, to gain an in-depth insight into the ancient culture and amazing natural environments of the two countries.”
