How Travel Agents can make lifelong commissions on their client's calls

Travel Agents are already earning commission on airfares, hotel rooms, car hire and cruise holidays, but did you know they can also make commission on their client's phone calls?

Travel Agents are already earning commission on airfares, hotel rooms, car hire and cruise holidays, but did you know they can also make commission on their client’s phone calls?

*Phone rings* – “hello this is cash calling”.

OneSimCard has officially dialed into Australia, not only with the promise of cheap international rates and reliable roaming, but lifelong commissions for consultants.

Although the product only arrived Down Under a few months ago, Roy Heimowitz from OneSimCard, told KarryOn that it isn’t completely new to the market.

He said that over 1,000 Aussies have already used the company’s US website to order a sim and paid around $40/$50 shipping just to have it shipped to the country.

Seeing this strong interest amongst lead to OneSimCard’s decision to make their presence in Australia a little more official and the first step in doing so, is giving Agents a reason to sell their product.

During a recent visit to Australia, he met with a mix of industry folk from media, blogger, tour companies and some Agencies.

Mostly, meetings involved Heimowitz explaining how the product now comes with an Australia number, has prepaid functions (which help travellers manage their phone spend while overseas) and its low rates ($99 for 3GB of data or 6/7 cents per minute on Skype).

There was also talk of the different packages available as well as free incoming calls from select countries and the easy-to-use recharging system.

But more importantly, Heimowitz highlighted the financial benefits for consultants who set their clients up on the travelling sim.

Lifelong commission. It’s exactly as it sounds.

Travel Agent can either distribute the product, by purchasing it from the company’s Brisbane HQ and selling it as a markup. OR they can give it away to their client (like as a thank you for the big booking), refer them to the website and then give them your agency code.

Once the agency code is registered to the sim card consultants make commission whenever their client tops up.

There’s at least six percent commission to be made on every top up, which may not sound like much now but over time (especially for those clients who travel more often) could equal thousands.

“Any time the customer tops up, the Agent makes a commission on that.”

Roy Heimowitz, OneSimCard Spokesperson

“They can use the back-end system to track when their clients top up.”
