There was no shortage of food, alcohol or entertainment at Gate 7’s 21st birthday shindig in Sydney this week, where the brand reflected on over two decades of growth & announced exciting changes.

Dozens of industry friends came together in Sydney’s suburb of Darlinghurst to toast Gate 7’s 21-year journey from Managing Director Jo Palmer’s small Bondi apartment in 1998 to today’s team of 24 tourism marketing specialists from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Speaking at the event, Ringmaster Palmer said that over the last two decades, the company has gained a “unique and deep understanding” of the market and forged intimate relationships with complex network stakeholders.

She said these relations have allowed the business to grow and meet its purpose of delivering “the deepest end-to-end-marketing solutions in Australia and New Zealand”.

In addition to delivering jaw-dropping entertainment, the birthday celebration also saw Gate 7 rebrand with a sleek new logo, an editorial-led website and new-look social channels.

“Turning 21 is a huge milestone and a time to contemplate our achievements and evolution as a company,” she added.

“Our exciting rebrand is a reflection of our journey and how our approach has changed – now encompassing content, digital, social, and consumer, as well as our trade marketing and PR legacy services.”

Gate 7 was started by Palmer in a Bondi apartment in 1998, and has grown to a team of 24 tourism marketing specialists from a diverse range of backgrounds. The agency represents 26 travel and tourism clients from around the world, including Brand USA, Visit California, Alterra Mountain Company, Celestyal Cruises and two new additions, SeaDream Yacht Club and Virginia Tourism Corporation.
