Peter Sommer Travels has added Croatia to its selection of cultural and archaeological tours, making it the fourth destination alongside Turkey, Greece and Italy.
Commencing 17 September this year, the archaeological and cultural tour specialist will take guests along the Dalmatia coastline for an eight-day yacht expedition between Split and Dubrovnik.
Travelling aboard a traditional wooden gulet, they’ll have the chance to explore ancient towns, learn about the Croat warriors and witness the Greek and Italian influences on the historic culture.
An expert guide and history enthusiast, Dr Ivana Jevtic, will guide travellers as they journey from Split through to Vis, Korčula and Dubrovnik.
In Split, the expedition offers a chance to explore the exceptionally well-preserved palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

It then sets out into the Adriatic to visit islands including Brač, known for its long history of stonemasonry used everywhere from Roman palaces to the White House, and stunning Hvar, once the ancient Greek colony of Pharos and later an important stronghold of the Venetian empire.
The expedition then heads to the delightful island of Vis to taste wines that have been produced locally since the 4th Century BC, and to Korčula with its picture-perfect township tightly arranged upon a narrow headland.

After opportunities to swim in turquoise bays and explore secluded coves and coastlines, the journey ends in the renowned city of Dubrovnik, itself a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its famous walls, grand promenades and tangle of terracotta rooftops overlooking the Adriatic.
Cruising the Coast of Dalmatia operates from 17-24 September 2016 and is priced from £2795* per person twin share (approx AU$5435).
