Quality over quantity – it’s a popular phrase designed to ensure people are delivering a superior product – but how often are companies putting it into practice?

Over at TravelManagers the concept is drilled into everything they do from products, technology, but more importantly – the agents they bring on board.

Speaking at the 2015 TravelManagers Conference in Adelaide over the weekend, CEO Joe Araullo said anyone can have numbers but TravelManagers is all about ensuring they have the best and most experienced.

And it looks like they’re getting closer to having exactly that.

According to the company’s latest mood survey, the average experience of the network sits at 18.2 years – this is well above the previous 16.5 years.

The new figure brings the home-based company a little closer to overtaking its main competitor, who says its agents have an average of 20 years experience.

Michael Gazal, TravelManagers Executive General Manager expects the average age to continue climbing particularly as the company pushes ahead with recruiting the best of the best in the industry.

“Our business is only as strong as our weakest link.”

During the 2014/15 year, TravelManagers welcomed 45 new agents. Gazal said 50 percent of them came through referral from Personal Travel Managers.

As the company continues to grow with experienced agents, Gazal expects the National Partnership Office will be able to add more support and services as well as adopt larger scale investments – he didn’t reveal what these might be.
