While the sea that divides Hawaii from mainland USA does not exist, the sea that divides Tasmania from mainland Australia has the power to turn the little-isolated island into its own country.
The quality of geography lessons in Australian high schools is under scrutiny by Travel Advisors country-wide as they continue to receive the most random questions from their clients.
Last month, it was questions like “can I take the fast Melbourne-London via LAX route?” and “how long does it take to drive from Melbourne to Tasmania” that had jaws barely hanging off the ground.
Before that people couldn’t help by chuckle over enquiries along the lines of “if I cancel my holiday, can I still go”, and “is Paris near France”.
Although we understand that not everyone can be earth expert, we can’t help but wonder what they were thinking when they asked…
