Rad! Adelaide gets increased international flights with Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways will expand its Adelaide–Doha route to five flights per week from 1 July, increasing service frequency and providing better connectivity for South Australia to the world, and boosting its services to offer 38 weekly flights to Australia.

The Adelaide service also flies direct to Auckland and the expansion will provide greater connection between South Australia and New Zealand and better accessibility for Kiwi visitors.

Qatar Airways vice president of sales for South-East Asia, Southwest Pacific & Indian Subcontinent Jared Lee said the expanded service is the latest enhancement to the carrier’s Australian network.

“We are excited to increase flights to Adelaide, highlighting our ongoing commitment to the South Australian market,” Mr Lee said.

“The Australia and New Zealand region continues to show strong growth for Qatar Airways and expanding this service will support the economy and tourism sector development in both countries.”

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas said: “As the world opens up, it is fantastic to see access to South Australia grow and to hear travel demand is booming.”

“Qatar Airways expanded its flight schedule into South Australia, tagging its Doha-Auckland service through Adelaide only two months ago, and already it is increasing services to our once fourth-largest international market to meet strong demand.”

Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox said the service increase was great news for passengers travelling between Adelaide and both Doha and Auckland and ahead of Australia qualifying for the FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar later this year.

“We’re excited to see further growth in our international network – flights to Doha offer excellent connections to European destinations, while the onward services from Adelaide to Auckland are proving very popular,” Mr Cox said.

Qatar Airways introduced the Adelaide–Auckland flight route in April 2022 in line with New Zealand’s borders reopening and doubled its Brisbane service, now operating seven flights per week, as well as expanding its Perth service to include daily flights to and from Doha earlier this year.
