Reho Travel raises the bar with inclusive parental leave policy

Fresh off picking up the Sustainability Award at the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA), Reho Travel is making waves again.

Fresh off picking up the Sustainability Award at the National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA), Reho Travel is making waves again.

This time, the world’s first B Corp-certified travel management company (TMC) aims to set a new benchmark for staff support with its new Reho Appreciation Plan, a parental leave policy designed to prioritise employee well-being and career development.

Launched as Reho marks its 45th anniversary, the “pioneering” plan addresses key challenges faced by new parents, including limited parental leave and balancing career growth with family life.

What’s Included? The Reho Appreciation Plan offers:

  • Paid parental leave: Four weeks of paid leave (in addition to government benefits) with an extra week for every year worked, capped at 20 weeks.
  • Flexibility for parents: Return-to-work options include full-time or part-time hours and remote work flexibility.
  • Practical support: New parents can choose from perks like $500 towards cleaning services, meal deliveries or baby supplies.
  • More well-being leave: Employees also receive 10 days of well-being leave, a birthday off and educational or volunteer leave.

The new initiative aims to improve employee retention, foster an inclusive company culture and align with Reho’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and gender equality goals.

Reho Travel Managing Director Karston Horne emphasised the importance of adapting to workforce needs.

“At Reho, our people drive our success, and supporting them at critical moments, like welcoming a new family member, is part of our commitment to positive industry change,” he stated.

“With the Reho Appreciation Plan, we are honouring our promise to our employees our clients, and the community by fostering a culture that values well-being, work-life balance and professional growth.”

Greener skies

Reho Travel’s work for good doesn’t stop there. The company recently announced its tie-up with Melbourne startup Savion to integrate advanced air mobility (AAM) flights into its services.

Savion’s autonomous blended wing body planes aim to launch by 2030, enabling corporate clients to redeem zero-emissions flight credits (ZFCs) for sustainable travel.

“Reho is thrilled to partner with Savion to create a commercial pathway for inter-state aerial ride-sharing,” Horne said.

“Savion is the first advanced air mobility company we’ve seen that has combined a first-class passenger experience, financial sustainability, and zero-emissions propulsion into a single compelling solution.

“The ABWB’s stand-up cabin and on-demand service will save our customers time, and help them be more productive without the usual environmental impact of air travel.”
