The mighty Ghan with its iconic red and white locomotives will once again be forging through the heart of Australia taking guests between Adelaide and Darwin.

Let’s hear it for Australian rail adventures!

Following a temporary hiatus due to COVID-19 and the recent easing of South Australian and Northern Territory borders, The Ghan is set to resume on Sunday, 30 August 2020.

Journey Beyond Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Egglestone, said it was great to once again be able to offer The Ghan as an experience for clients.

“The Ghan has grown and adapted over 90 years to become the all-inclusive, premium rail adventure it is today. To start operations again post COVID-19 is terrific news and we can’t wait to welcome your clients aboard again.”

“We understand many of your clients have forgone holidays or had to change their plans and we’re pleased to be able to start helping them experience their long-awaited travels.

“We’re aware COVID-19 still poses a small risk and that’s why we’ve introduced JourneySafe, an initiative to enhance guest and crew safety on all Journey Beyond experiences.

“We’ve altered dining arrangements to ensure there are no shared platters, we’ll be practising physical distancing and doubling-down on our already stringent hygiene practices.

“For any clients looking for a winter escape, now is the perfect time to enjoy Darwin’s long sunny days in the dry season.

“With international travel still a way off, this is a great opportunity to better explore the beauty of Australia while enjoying our trademark hospitality,” Mr Egglestone said.
