Royal Caribbean has announced the name of its third Icon Class ship: Legend of the Seas. The new ship will offer Caribbean and European itineraries as it looks to build on the experiences of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean has announced the name of its third Icon Class ship: Legend of the Seas. The new ship will offer Caribbean and European itineraries as it looks to build on the experiences of Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas.

Starting November 2026, Legend will sail year-round from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Guests can choose from 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean voyages, both featuring visits to Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Prior to this, Legend will offer 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona beginning in August 2026.

The European sailings will explore destinations in France, Italy, and Spain, while Western and Southern Caribbean itineraries will showcase some of the region’s most well-known locations, with every cruise including Perfect Day at CocoCay. Stops at Aruba, Jamaica, and Curaçao are also on the horizon for the new ship.

Currently under construction in Finland, Legend promises a new level of family vacation. Like its sister ships, it will feature eight distinct neighborhoods, over 40 dining and drinking venues and a wide range of activities.

Thrill-seekers can anticipate experiences like Crown’s Edge and Category 6 – the largest waterpark at sea – while seven pools, including Royal Bay and the adults-only Hideaway, offer relaxation options for everyone.

Elsewhere, Surfside, a neighborhood designed for young families, features activities and accommodations like the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.

Legend will be Royal Caribbean’s fourth LNG-powered ship, incorporating advanced environmental technologies. These include waste heat recovery and shore power connection, supporting the company’s commitment to a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.

Further details about Legend’s features will be revealed on Royal Caribbean’s website soon.

Bookings for Legend’s debut itineraries will open shortly, with early access for Crown & Anchor Society members on 20 February.

Legend of the Seas is the next bold step in this exciting era of vacations and the continuation of the Icon Class legacy, and we look forward to bringing the revolutionary lineup of experiences to more families and adventurers across Europe, the Caribbean and beyond.”
