Virgin Australia has upped its fab-u-lous Pride Flights to Sydney next year, releasing 1,000-plus seats across five flights to more than double its services for those attending the Southern Hemisphere’s first WorldPride event in 2023.

Virgin will launch its maiden Pride Flight services to Sydney from Adelaide and Perth along with OG routes from Brisbane and Melbourne, which the airline launched in 2022 for MardiGras.

And United Airlines will fly the first international Pride Flight from San Francisco to Sydney, in partnership with Virgin Australia, departing on 22 February 2023.

Virgin Australia-operated Pride Flight services will be hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under stars Coco Jumbo, Karen From Finance, Kween Kong and Maxi Shield, alongside some of Australia’s leading drag talent, including Barbie Q, Penny Tration, Philmah Bocks, Sexy Galexy and Tora Hymen.

Flights from Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth will include a pre-flight departure party with special entertainment by local LGBTQIA+ venues, celeb appearances, mid-air drag performances, bottomless beverages and more.

All Pride Flight tickets include complimentary entry to the official Pride Flight Landing Party at iconic LGBTQIA+ venue The Beresford in Sydney.

Plus, $30 from the sale of each ticket on Virgin Australia-operated services will be donated to the Minus18 LGBTQIA+ youth charity.

Virgin’s Pride Flight services will be operated entirely by LGBTQIA+ pilots, crew and allies.
