The internet may have changed the way travellers do their research, but travel brochures are still a popular way of obtaining travel information. Here’s what new this week.
1. Get Creative in Thailand
Creative Holidays continues to release its 2015/16 travel brochures, the latest its new Thailand program featuring 30 new hotels plus new regions and multi-day tours around Bangkok.
According to the company’s Managing Director, James Gaskell, the country has rebounded, with new demand for five-star properties.
Aussies in particular continue to enjoy Bangkok as the point of entry, where they spend two or three nights during their first visit.
New regions have been added to the brochure including Sangklaburi Lake and Trang.
Elephant lovers will find a full page on the experiences at Elephant Hills in Khao Sok.

A range of new hotels has been added to the collection with a focus on higher-end and iconic properties such as JW Marriott Resort & Spa, Point Yamu by COMO and Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach in Phuket; Six Senses Samui, SALA Samui Resort & Spa in Koh Samui; and Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok.
Itineraries include the four-night ‘Sangklaburi Lake House Adventure’ tour, which includes accommodation, transfers, many meals, English speaking guide and entrance fees.
There’s also the ‘Trang Island Hopping’ where guests see temples, tunnels, beaches and villages.
2. FreeChoice with Scenic on Norfolk Island
Scenic Tours, Australia’s leading operator of all-inclusive touring to Norfolk Island, has released its 2015/2016 program which sees the introduction of two new Scenic FreeChoice activities.
There’s a fully-escorted eight-day tour, staying at the Governor’s Lodge Resort set on 12 acres of lush, subtropical gardens, surrounded by majestic Norfolk pines.
Guests will gain an insight into the self-sustaining lifestyle and culture of the island while enjoying the unspoilt beauty of the rugged cliffs and coral reefs.
Prices for eight-day Historic Norfolk Island start from $3,095 per person twin share, including an earlybird discount of $250 per couple for bookings made by 30 September 2015 or until sold out.
Price includes all accommodation, most meals, all excursions, events and entertainment, airport transfers and all tipping and gratuities.
3. Travel to Singapore & Beyond
Singapore Airlines Holidays has introduced a new style of brochure ‘Singapore & Beyond 2015/16’, which features the most extensive range of Singapore product in the Australian market, including a large expansion of cruise product due to new key partnerships in 2015.
Princess Cruises, Star Cruises and Pandaw Cruise are featured in the wholesalers one-stop-Singapore-shop brochure and blends perfectly with airfares, land and accommodation options to create great value holiday packages in Singapore.
New special interest holidays introduced to the new brochure include a WWII and Changi package celebrating the 70th anniversary of the conclusion of WWII in Asia-Pacific, Princess Cruise itineraries that focus on Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence and new Walking, shopping and culinary tours.
The ever popular packages for Singapore Airlines Formula One Grand Prix are also included, offering fantastic value.
4. Explore PNG privately and independently
Abercrombie & Kent has released its 2015 Australia and Papua New Guinea brochure containing 22 itineraries, which are designed entirely for the private independent traveller seeking luxury travel experiences in Australia and PNG.
The portfolio includes holidays designed specifically for families, solo travellers, honeymooners and wildlife enthusiasts as well as those which contain active content, a food or wine focus or an emphasis on culture.
New in the brochure is a new adventure starting on an 85,000-acre cattle station in the rugged outback of North Queensland, where just 10 guests can enjoy the spectacular lodge accommodation at Crystalbrook and explore the property.
From there guests are flown by helicopter to Orpheus Island for a reef and beach experience.
There’s also the seven-day ‘Gourmet Southwest’ journey taking guests around the Margaret River wine country from vineyard to vineyard, meeting vignerons, sampling the local drop and arranging a private barrel tasting along the way.
Iconic Landscapes are explored during the 11-day ‘Secrets of the Sepik’ tour in Papua New Guinea.
And there’s a chance to swim with majestic Whale Sharks or spot humpback whales during the six-day ‘Pristine Waters of Ningaloo Reef’ journey.

5. An Infinity options in South Australia
Australians own backyard is getting bigger with more options in the Infinity Holidays 2015/16 South Australia travel brochure.
This year, the tour operator has the ‘Something Special’ genre page filled with some ideas for a luxury getaway.
There is also four new hotels – three in Adelaide and The Frames at Paringa (this one is amazing – scan the QR code for a video).
There are three new winery tours from Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia, including one where guests get to taste a tawny made in the year of their birth.
