A380 lovers, grab your passports! Singapore Airlines has announced that it will start up all four engines on each aircraft and resume services onboard the Superjumbo on select London flights.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced that it will resume Airbus A380 operations on selected services between Singapore and London from 18 November 2021.
With the inclusion of the United Kingdom in the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) arrangements and following strong passenger demand for services to and from London, these services will offer travellers options in the lead up to the year-end holiday season.
The resumed services will include SQ322 from Singapore to London and SQ317, the return London to Singapore leg.
SQ317 is also the designated quarantine-free flight from London under Singapore’s VTL arrangements.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Mr Louis Arul, says the A380 has always been popular, and SIA was looking forward to welcoming customers on board the aircraft once again.
“Once Australia’s border restrictions are lifted, I am sure Australians will relish the opportunity to experience all the comforts of our A380 as they wing their way from Singapore to London”, Mr Arul said.
“Our award-winning digital initiatives, as well as our industry-leading health and safety measures, will ensure Australians travel in comfort and safety as they reunite with family and friends.”
Prior to the A380’s return to London, SIA will deploy the aircraft on an ad hoc basis on short-haul services for operational requirements.
“SIA will remain nimble and flexible in deploying capacity to markets as the demand warrants,” added Mr Arul.

The airline says that health and safety measures include extensive cabin cleaning and the provision of personal care kits for each customer.
All SIA aircraft are also equipped with advanced, HEPA filtration systems that replace all cabin air every three minutes, providing a safer in-flight environment.
All customers and crew are also required to wear masks for the duration of their flight, except during meals.
