Comfort, comfort, comfort all around Australia. Singapore Airlines’ entire fleet operating to & from Australia will be equipped with Premium Economy seats AND lie-flat Business Class from 1 November 2019.

Singapore Airlines made the announcement this week, saying Australia-wide premium seating will be available when the A350-900 moves onto the Melbourne-Singapore route.

In a statement, the carrier said the Melbourne route is the last Down Under to not offer Business Class and Premium Economy, which will change when the A350-900 operates on all 36 weekly flights to and from Victoria’s capital.

Singapore Airlines’ Philip Goh said the carrier is excited to be able to offer a “level of product consistency” on all 141 weekly flights around Australia.

“[We} will deliver customers improved product consistency, greater comfort, and the enjoyment of the latest cabin products complimented by our famous service.”

The carrier’s A350-900 features 42 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout providing each customer with direct aisle access. Each seat converts into a 78-inch fully-flat bed with cushioned headboard for greater sleeping comfort.

Business Class also has stowage designed to include a side console located above the armrest, which allows laptop storage in both seat and bed mode.

The aircraft also has 24 Premium Economy seats in a 2-4-2 layout providing extra comfort, choices, and privileges for passengers. It comes with priority handling and boarding, followed by a seat that includes a calf-rest and footrest for extra comfort. The seat reclines up to eight inches with a 38-inch seat pitch.

And finally, there are 187 seats in Economy Class laid out in a 3-3-3 layout. Each seat comes with a backrest cushion, 4-way adjustable sculpture headrest and an 11.1-inch wide touch-screen personal monitor.
