SMART & STYLISH: Oman Air unveils 'graceful' new staff uniforms

It’s an ongoing journey towards “graceful excellence”, said Oman Air’s leaders after unveiling stylish new uniforms for its cabin crew earlier this week.

Oman Air’s staff debut their new uniforms in London Heathrow on 13 June 2019, where travellers were able to appreciate the “professionalism and confidence” the threads delivered.

Developed by Oman Air’s in-house product development and brand team, the new style takes inspiration from the colours, culture, history and heritage of the Sultanate of Oman while presenting confidence and approachability.

How does a uniform capture all that?

Well, through the use of the turquoise colour – inspired by the Sea of Oman. This colour not only represents a connection to the Mother Land but a tone that evokes self-confidence and symbolises warmth.

Beyond the colour, the stewardesses’ one-piece dress has been cut and shaded to ensure comfort and elegance. It features a flowing cut that falls below the knees and is accompanied with a jacket tailored to “convey flair and elegance”.

Cabin Directors onboard will wear a darker teal shade for stewardesses in the same cut contrasted with a golden hatlet and veil.

Meanwhile, stewards will wear a modern suit cut in the dark teal with a turquoise tie. Male Cabin Directors will be easily distinguished with a grey vest and gold tie.

The carrier’s Chief Executive, Abdulaziz Al Raisi, said he’s excited to roll out the new uniforms, particularly after the ” tremendous amount of effort and time” put into their creation.

“The precise styling and overall look achieved in each garment is indeed praiseworthy.”
