It’s been a big year for Sonia Jones Travel. In April, the boutique business won the Travel Agency category at the 2024 Australian Small Business Champion Awards. Now, Sonia Jones Travel has taken home Gold in the Tourism Retail and Hire Services category at the 2024 Queensland Tourism Awards, held at The Star Brisbane.
As a first-time entrant, this recognition celebrates the boutique agency’s commitment to excellence and customer service within the tourism sector.
Now in its 39th year, the awards, hosted by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC), honour the achievements of the state’s top businesses and individuals across 31 categories, including transport, attractions, accommodation, events and accessible tourism.

Other first-time winners included Vertigo and Voco Brisbane City Centre, alongside Sonia Jones Travel.
Sonia Jones Travel will now represent Queensland at the Australian Tourism Awards in Adelaide next March, competing nationally with the best in the business.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognised at this level and to represent Queensland’s vibrant tourism industry,” Sonia Jones Travel Director Sonia Jones said.
“This award reflects the dedication of our team, the support of our valued clients and supplier partners, and our passion for delivering exceptional travel experiences. We are thrilled to showcase not just the world, but our incredible Queensland backyard.”
