The iconic Rocky Mountaineer is about to hit an impressive milestone. 30 years of making people’s wildest travel dreams a reality by taking them on a grand adventure through the otherwise inaccessible regions of the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

The world knew Rocky Mountaineer was something special right from its inaugural trip back in 1990.

Fast forward three decades and the family-owned, Canadian company has welcomed over two million guests from around the world on board.

Choose your adventure

If you’re not already totally across how The Rocky Mountaineer works, here’s a rundown. The stunning rail journey is offered along three different routes First Passage to the West, Journey through the Clouds and the Rainforest to Goldrush.

And yes they’re all equal parts spectacular and unforgettable.

First Passage to the West is the only passenger rail service on the historic route connecting Canada from East to West.

The journey takes travellers through Spiral Tunnels, crosses the Continental Divide and winds through mountain passes and dramatic canyons. And it is nothing short of breathtaking.

Described as “non-stop stunning” the Journey through the Clouds route travels through scenic valleys, along the mighty Fraser River, through Hell’s Gate, and past the magnificent Pyramid Falls.

Finally, the Rainforest to Goldrush adventure explores the mountain mecca of Whistler and reveals hidden lakes and canyons few others get to see. Relax in comfort as you move through seemingly impassable terrain.

Pure luxury

Onboard, glass dome coaches allow passengers to make the most of the breathtaking panoramic views surrounding them.

The locally-sourced, West Coast-inspired cuisine is another highlight of the trip.

Passengers have a choice between SilverLeaf Service and GoldLeaf Service both of which come with their own perks.

SilverLeaf Service features generous amounts of space and over-sized windows with freshly prepared meals, beverages and snacks are served at passenger’s seats.

GoldLeaf Service, on the other hand, gives passengers a separate dining room and an outdoor viewing platform on the lower level.

Passengers can also enjoy plus spacious, reclining seats and full-dome windows on the upper level.
