STRAP IN: First images of Disneyland's completed Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge are here!

Disneyland's most immersive park EVER is less than a day away from opening to the public, in the meantime staff are going full Ja Ja with early looks at the completed area.

Disneyland’s most immersive park EVER is less than a day away from opening to the public, in the meantime staff are going full Ja Ja with early looks at the completed area.

That land is, of course, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Disneyland California’s first land fully dedicated to George Lucas’ intergalactic franchise.

Much-like other lands across the popular park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be a completely immersive experience whereby visitors will actually feel as though they’ve stepped into the sci-fi movies.

Just look at it! It’s complete!

However, unlike other lands, the new one creates an entirely new storyline for fans, one that’s set on the remote planet of Batuu where smugglers spend their time between jobs and evading the First Order.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge further sets itself apart from the rest with a unique with its characters, who will be available for photo opportunities, although, they won’t be roaming the land. Visitors will have to find them in their natural environments.

Food and drinks will be available throughout the land and options will be inspired by the movies, and even includes Blue and Green Milk. However there will be no sit down a la carte dining venue because as Disney Destination’s Travel and Business Development Manager, Michael Cassis puts it, “sitting down for a three-course meal in a remote outpost in the edge of space isn’t exactly fitting with the storyline”.

Other distinguishing elements of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are the souveniors, which won’t be branded but rather items you’d expect to find in a far-flung outpost such as rare creatures from around the galaxy, personally-made droids and customised lightsabers.

And finally, visitors will be able to use the Play Disney Park app in Galaxy’s Edge to translate languages, discover precious cargo and hack into the land’s many devices. Users will also be able to pledge their loyalty to the First Order or join the resistence (First Order for sure!).

“This really is the most immersive ride we’ve ever created and is set to mesmerise guests with a whole slueth of additional experiences.”

Michael Cassis, Disney Destination Travel and Business Development Manager

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opens on 31 May and KARRYON will be among the first to check it out during IPW19, which is being held in Anaheim.

Keep an eye on KARRYON for first images and news from the annual event and more importantly, Disneyland.
