As if you didn’t already eat three times the amount you normally eat while on a cruise, P&O is here, celebrating Christmas and showcasing a record number of gingerbread houses, ready to put you in the biggest food coma of your life.
Thirty pastry chefs have spent over 1000 hours creating more than 400 gingerbread houses to be displayed to 6000 guests on P&O Cruises’ Pacific Explorer, Pacific Aria and Pacific Dawn.
You won’t be able to run as fast as you can after eating all these gingerbread men and houses, that’s for sure.

The gingerbread houses have been a traditional Christmas decoration for decades and form part of the significant quantities of festive fare that is consumed by families and couples celebrating Christmas and New Year on the ship.
On Christmas Day alone, P&O will serve up one tonne of turkey, 400 kilograms of ham and 100 kilograms of dried fruit within the traditional fruit mince pie or spiced dried fruit cake, all baked onboard.
Sounds delcious? There’s even more food to fill your boots with…
An Australian Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a seafood feast and P&O guests will consume over 400 kilograms of prawns during Christmas dinner alone.
That’s a lot of shrimps on the barbie!
Vegans and Vegetarians won’t go hungry as choice and variety is a priority for P&O.
This year the cruise line will offer plant-based dishes on the Christmas menu with ‘Spiced Pumpkin and Chickpea Bake’ making a debut appearance.
