Qantas is adding extra flights to Honolulu, Hawaii and Santiago, Chile later this year, to meet travel demand for the two cities over the peak Christmas holiday period.

From December 2019 to February 2020, the Flying Kangaroo’s Sydney-Honolulu flights will increase from five per week to daily. This equals an additional eleven return flights over December and January.

Meanwhile, the airline will fly Sydney-Santiago six times weekly over the same period, up from the current four. This is an additional eight flights over the period, and 10 percent more capacity compared to the same period earlier this year.

Stephen Thompson, Qantas’ Senior Executive Vice President for The Americas, said the ability to add extra services and meet demand will aid people planning trips, particularly over the busy holiday period.

“Every season we look for opportunities to add flights on the routes where we know our customers want to travel.”

“Whether it’s a beach escape to the Hawaiian Islands or using Santiago as a gateway to South America, these flights mean more choice for our customers.”

Fares for the additional seasonal services are available via qantas.com and through Travel Agents.
