The Langham, Melbourne has been voted as the best hotel in Australia and New Zealand by Condé Nast Traveler readers in the freshly released 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.

The coveted 32nd annual awards highlight “the most beautiful resorts and hotels on each continent”.

Conde Nast said the awards celebrate the fact that their readers “love to travel, and get to all sorts of places, making all-new discoveries”.

“And we’re just as curious about where you go, what you loved, and who you went with. This is why we call on you year after year to let us know which places and players you admire the most”.

The five-star luxury hotel, The Langham in Melbourne was recognised for its riverside location in the Southbank precinct, just a few minutes’ walk from downtown.

“Visitors are drawn in by its old-fashioned opulence, which channels the great hotels of London and New York”.

The hotel was praised for its impressed Yarra River and Melbourne skyline views, especially from rooms with terraces or balconies.

“Even The Langham’s most modest guest rooms feature marble bathrooms with generous tubs, and the Chuan Spa is best known for its traditional Chinese massages, but the facials, scrubs and wraps—some of which use marine algae from Thalgo—are top-notch, too,” Conde Nast commented in a review of the hotel.

And clearly, their readers agree too, a whole lot of them in fact!

Other local destinations to receive Conde Nast Reader’s Awards this year included the Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island which was voted Best Resort in Australia and South Pacific.

The Whitsundays was voted as The Best Island in Australia and the South Pacific and Indonesia took out the major title of Best Country to visit.
