Tokyo’s tourism boom looks set to continue into 2025, with Japan welcoming 33.3 million visitors by November 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic records.

To meet growing demand, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau have unveiled a new, dedicated ticketing page on GOTOKYO.org.

The Tokyo Events and Tickets page offers over 110 experiences, from iconic attractions and sumo wrestling matches to kabuki theatre and traditional craft workshops. Tickets are also available in nine languages, streamlining access for global travellers.

According to the Tokyo authorities, the one-stop platform will ensure easy planning for visitors, offering both advanced and same-day bookings with seamless integration to partner sites. 

“Australian visitor numbers to Japan increased 54.3 per cent year-on-year from January to November 2024. With such growth, we’re excited to have this new tool to make booking experiences and attractions in Tokyo more convenient,” Tokyo Tourism representative in Australia, Alison Roberts-Brown said.

“Whether you’re planning your trip or looking for an impromptu experience, the new events and tickets page on GOTOKYO.org is the perfect resource to discover and book the best that Tokyo has to offer.”

In October 2024, Tokyo Tourism launched an updated Tokyo Tourism Expert e-learning and training program for travel advisors to level up their knowledge of the latest hotels, attractions and experiences.
