All together again: Tauck celebrates first all-company catch-up in 3 years

Tauck office and support teams from around the world met in the tour company’s Connecticut HQ recently to celebrate 2022 successes and catch up together for the first time in three years.

Almost 300 Tauck office employees from 27 US states and seven countries connected for departmental meetings, evening social events and an offsite keynote address and celebration.

In his keynote speech, Tauck CEO Dan Mahar noted that during its 2022 operating season the company hosted guests in 61 countries and all seven continents and operated within five per cent of 2019 levels on its combined North America, Europe, Bridges and river cruising itineraries.

He also praised their travel advisors and supplier partners for the company’s “remarkable successes and exceptional restart”.

“Our industry has achieved something really special – it’s truly the accomplishment of a lifetime – and I hope all of our advisor-partners and partner suppliers feel the same sense of pride that we do,” he said.

“It’s the people that power our industry and they came together to make dreams come true for so many. Once again we are able to be a positive force for good in our world and we are so appreciative of all the people who played a role in making this happen.”

Mr Mahar said Tauck is well-positioned for 2023 with near-record pre-season bookings for its range of land journeys, small-ship and river cruises, family adventures and small-group tours.

“Restarting operations from a complete shutdown was a daunting challenge but our staged restart in 2021 paved the way for this year’s success and has given us the experience, resources and momentum to continue moving forward in 2023. There are always challenges, and we’ve faced many over the past 97 years, but we’re very optimistic for the future.”

Tauck reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian market earlier this year, bolstering its country representation with a local sales, service and marketing team and staging advisor events.
