More National Parks, more unique accommodation & more destinations – it’s what the people want & it’s what Contiki is giving them when they travel to North America.
The youth tour operator released its new Contiki USA & Canada 2019/20 program this week, and it’s packed with 39 trips, including new product that the youth operator believes will meet travellers’ cravings for unique and out of this way experiences.
For example, the new four-day Southwest National Parks itinerary features Contiki’s first overnight Glamping experience in a national park – Utah’s Zion National Park.
The unique sleep will place travellers in the centre of Mother Nature before they continue their journey to see the organic amphitheatre of Bryce, Monument Valley, Lake Powell and enjoy a Navajo-led hike.
A second Glamping stay is also available in Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains during the 10-day Southern Stars – New Orleans to Atlanta adventure.
Travellers will lay under the stars after enjoying sultry jazz and Cajun-infused food in New Orleans and dancing to the musical rhythms of Memphis and Nashville.
Strong demand for outdoor adventure had prompted Contiki to include six of the USA’s most popular national parks in 2019/20, including new additions Denali and St Elias National Parks in Alaska, which feature in the 12-day Grand Alaska trip.
Meanwhile, California’s Yosemite has its own dedicated four-day itinerary that covers waterfalls, glaciers, meadows, wildlife, ancient trees and more.
Also in California, Contiki has added a seven-day California Dreamin’ trip that ticks off the entire Golden State from San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Big Sur, Malibu, Santa Monica and Los Angeles.
Contiki’s Managing Director, Katrina Barry, said that operator is proud of the variety of itineraries and experiences it offers in a region as diverse as North America.
“We know our travellers are increasingly interested in off-the-beaten-track destinations, so it’s exciting to be able to offer two brand new and lesser-explored destinations with our Alaska and Pacific Northwest trips.”
