Forget what you know (or ever imagined) about taking a safari because G Adventures has just completely broken the mould in Africa.
The adventure operator launched a new innovative overland adventure vehicle (OAV) named ‘Lando’ (a play on the word overland – sounds like Aussie slang to us), which we’ve dubbed as the coolest bus ever.
A first-of-its-kind, it not only has air conditioning, spacious seats and seatbelts, but reclining seats with side-seat movement for extra shoulder room.
Mmmm sounds comfy.
The bus comes with large front windows for better views of wildlife and windows designed specifically for photography.
You know what this means right? Better selfies!
Not convinced of its ‘cool’ status yet?
How about after taking those selfies in front of the photo-friendly windows you use the bus’ wifi to post that picture straight to your social media page?
Yep, the bus has wifi AND USB chargers at every seat.
Ignore the infomercial tone but seriously, that’s not all.
The vehicle also comes with a 250-litre water tank so you don’t have to carry plastic bottles around.
Handy right?
G Adventures currently has 10 of these bad boys operating on eastern and southern Africa Yolo itineraries covering Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Jeff Russill, VP of product at G Adventures, says his team has completely re-invented and improved the OAV with the needs of travellers in mind, using traveller feedback and the inside knowledge of the G Africa team.
“Our travellers have become more sophisticated and their needs have changed.”
Jeff Russill, G Adventures VP of Product
“We no longer accept that the old vehicles suit modern-day travellers, and in our bid to lead with service have come up with a solution to bring overland travel into a new age.”
