Intrepid says Aussie families are getting more adventurous than ever before with their travel, prompting the adventure travel company to release their most “exotic” range of family trips yet.
Intrepid Travel’s Family Product Manager Dyan McKie said families were “growing increasingly curious and confident to visit more ‘exotic’ destinations like Turkey and Morocco with kids”.
“We are seeing families become so adventurous that they are even tubing in caves in Belize – talk about giving the kids bragging rights for show and tell.”

So where are Intrepid taking families this year?
On a Turkish adventure
On this 10-day family trip to Turkey, families will get creative in Goreme during a Turkish pottery class and learn to cook authentic Turkish food with a local family.
The trips will be guided around the city of Kas and watch the sunset over the ocean from the ancient amphitheatre.
Families will visit the surreal landscape of Cappadocia, where all ages will be enchanted by the rock formations, coloured valleys and horses carved into cliffs.
The trip includes a boat trip around Kekova to hop between islands and marvel at submerged ruins. This trip finishes in Istanbul, where kids will learn the art of Turkish water marbling using traditional methods and materials.
Under the spell of Morocco
Camping under the stars in the Sahara Desert and taking a camel ride is all part of this new 10-day family adventure in Morocco.
Families will visit famous cities of Fes and Marrakech whilst having free time to rummage the spice markets and sip loose leaf teas.
The trip gives a great local insight with a visit to the small village in Midlet and drive through scenic mountains, valleys and fields past ancient kasbah.
Escape to Greece
The week-long trip starts in Athens before visiting the island of Lefkas, where families will learn to cook authentic Greek food.
The trip ends on Corfu, where families tour the island, visit a Donkey Rescue Centre and relax on the beaches of Paleokastritsa.
South of Spain
On this nine-day trip in the south of Spain, families will sight-see the capital’s Royal Place and during a guided tour, they’ll get to taste test authentic churros dipped into chocolate sauce and explore the streets of Madrid.
The trip takes families to Seville to learn the Spanish flamenco dance, go on tapas crawl and take a catamaran off the coast of Torremolinos, to spot dolphins.
Canoe with the kids in Central America
Belize and Guatemala offer an exciting mix of discovery for all the family, from off the beaten track jungle treks to relaxing beaches with world-class barrier reef snorkelling.
Parents and kids can walk through Takil National Park to discover jungle pools and go cave tubing at the St. Herman’s Blue Hole Nationals Park. The trip also lets families take a canoe trip from San Ignacio up the Barton Creek or relax on the shores of San Pedro while the kids snorkel the Belize Barrier Reef.
