Adventure travel company, G Adventures, is becoming one of the more trusted operators for solo female travellers, according to new figures.
The tour operator reported that this year women aged between 25 and 39 made up around 48 percent of all bookings – that’s a seven percent increase on last year.
G Adventures’ Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Belinda Ward, told KarryOn that the increase comes as more females look to travel on their own, but still want the comfort and safety of a group.
“We know some women feel more comfortable travelling in a group for safety reasons, particularly if they don’t speak the language.”

She continued, explaining that today’s women are time poor and don’t have the ability to research destinations, hotels and transport on their own.
This is where operators like G Adventures come into play, providing all the organisation and adventure as well as the safety of trustworthy local CEOs (Chief Experience Officers).
“We understand that it is important to feel comfortable with the company they do book with and know that their guides will keep them safe and having a good time.”

To build momentum amongst young females, G Adventures launched its biggest promotional campaign today called ‘Make Your Next Step Count’.
The campaign builds on the desire to escape from work by encouraging them to take the next step towards an extraordinary adventure.
Channel 9 personality, Lauren Phillips, was recruited to headline the video as she travelled through India with G Adventures.
To coincide with the release of the 15 seconds and 30 seconds videos, G Adventures is giving three Australians the chance to win a trip of a lifetime.
Entrants will be required to select an image which best represents how they dream of taking their next step, and then explain why they are ready to take it.
Agents can enter the competition too: click here for more information.
“We live in a world where many people feel stretched, too busy and overwhelmed by the pressures of juggling work, relationships, family and societal expectations.”
Lauren Phillips
“To travel is to really live, so it seems logical to me to make the next step count by travelling.”
Winners will be surprised in their workplaces, homes, gyms by the G Adventures team before being whisked away.
