Intrepid Travel has opened a new Copenhagen office, expanding its Northern European presence. The Danish hub will launch with 23 new tours, with eight more planned for 2026.
Regionally, Intrepid aims to double customer numbers to 8,000 in five years.
To support this growth, Kristijan Švajnzger has been appointed Regional General Manager for East Europe, the Nordic region and the Caucasus.
Inga Rós Antoníusdóttir has also stepped into the role of GM for North Europe, leading operations from the new hub.

“Opening a hub in Copenhagen marks a pivotal moment for Intrepid and reflects our strong confidence in the region,” Švajnzger said.
“Northern Europe is seeing incredible growth, fueled by the rise of ‘coolcations,’ growing interest in Nordic culture, breathtaking natural landscapes and a strong commitment to sustainability.
“I’m excited to see our team take Intrepid’s presence in the region to the next level.
“At Intrepid, it’s not just about growing our community, it’s about creating more meaningful opportunities for cultural connection and exchange.”
The Copenhagen office is part of the travel company’s broader plan to open six new European offices in five years.

“I’m delighted to be opening our first office in Scandinavia,” EMEA Managing Director Zina Bencheikh stated.
“There is huge potential for Intrepid to grow in Europe and expanding our country offices gives us an exciting opportunity to expand our product range and purpose activity in the region.”
Elsewhere, the small group tour operator recently appointed Hazel McGuire as Chief Marketing Officer and Leigh Barnes as President of the Americas.
These changes support Intrepid’s goal of 600,000 travellers by 2030 and focus on sustainable growth.
In February, the travel company took another major step into the European market with its largest-ever acquisition, purchasing Dutch tour operator Sawadee Reizen from Travelopia.
Kicking goals

In other recent news, Intrepid Travel announced it would be North Melbourne Football Club’s Premier Partner for the 2025 season.
“Partnerships are all about alignment, but rarely do you find a partner so well aligned in terms of values. In particular, we have been so impressed with Intrepid’s commitment to positively impacting communities all around the globe,” North Melbourne chief executive Jen Watt said.
“Intrepid’s travel packages are high quality products and we know that if North Melbourne members and supporters choose to travel with Intrepid this season, they will experience some of the best the West has to offer.”
