Intrepid Travel has purchased the iconic Ooraminna Station Homestead in Central Australia, deepening its Northern Territory footprint beyond tours into experience-led accommodation to meet growing demand for immersive stays.
Intrepid Travel’s latest acquisition supports the B Corp’s 2030 growth strategy and reflects growing interest in curated stays in domestic and close-to-home destinations.
The B Corp intends to expand the 200ha outback property, located 30km south of Alice Springs, adding 10 rooms designed for families and couples to the existing four private cabins, four glamping tents and campground facilities.

It will also update amenities and add new onsite experiences alongside the restaurant, pool and natural billabong on the property.
Ooraminna Station Homestead’s website notes that the accommodation, campground and restaurant are currently closed for upgrades and will reopen to the public on 15 May 2026.

The nature-based property will be bookable through Intrepid Travel soon and also integrated into trips in the region, providing a more immersive way for travellers to experience the outback.
Intrepid Travel ANZ Managing Director Brett Mitchell said Ooraminna Station Homestead is the latest in a series of investments, such as the recent acquisition of Wild Bush Luxury, to expand its accommodation offering in key destinations.

“This acquisition is an important step in our ambition to lead low-impact, nature-based travel and invest in the future of Australian tourism,” he said.
“We’re seeing continued demand for experience-rich stays in regional Australia and properties like Ooraminna allow us to create deeper connections to place, community and culture.”

Included in last year’s NT Round Up famil, Tourism and Events Northern Territory Chief Executive Suzana Bishop said: “Ooraminna Station Homestead is a unique venue and accommodation site that allows visitors to soak up the stunning Central Australian outback.”
“Intrepid’s investment further supports the NT visitor economy by providing unique experiences that can only be found here.”
KARRYON UNPACKS: Intrepid Travel’s Ooraminna Station acquisition reflects a broader shift toward owning the guest experience and also giving advisors meaningful, story-led product to sell in Australia’s booming regional travel market.
