Intrepid Travel launches first app to make adventures smarter and seamless

The world’s largest adventure travel company has launched its first-ever mobile app, giving travellers everything they need for their trip, from itineraries and booking details to real-time updates and in-app chat, all in one place.

Developed in collaboration with tech partner TourOptima, the Intrepid App is now available globally on iOS and Android, marking a significant step in the company’s digital transformation.

Through the app, travellers can connect with their group 10 days before departure, chat with trip leaders and even receive sustainability reminders and local insights from The Intrepid Foundation.

Rolling out through 2025, the app aims to make travel smoother, smarter, and more connected, in step with Intrepid’s purpose-led approach.

“The app is designed to enhance the on-trip customer experience, facilitating connection between travellers and tour leaders during their adventure,” Intrepid Travel Chief Marketing Officer Hazel McGuire said. 

It puts everything travellers need in one place, so they can focus on the experience, not the logistics. TourOptima has provided an industry-leading solution that will significantly improve our travellers’ experience.” 

TourOptima CEO Benjamin Sann said, “This partnership allowed us to apply technology that preserves the human moment, helping travellers stay present and connected throughout their journey”.
