Martin Randall Travel (MRT) has named Ascend Travel Group its first Australian trade representative, marking the UK operator’s first international trade expansion since its creation in 1988.
With the move, the cultural tour specialist – known for small-group, expert-led journeys and private music festivals – will now be more accessible to Australian travel agents.
“We’re delighted to partner with Ascend Travel Group to strengthen our connection with Australian travel agents and build on the growing demand for cultural travel,” MRT’s Australian Country Manager Kelly Ward said.
“Co-founders Julie and Lynda, with their extensive connections, are the perfect bridge between our expertise and the agent community, giving agents access to something genuinely distinctive with comprehensive support.”
Ward also highlighted the importance of the Aussie market to MRT.

“Australia has been one of our strongest international markets for more than 25 years, thanks to the wonderful depth of curiosity of Australian travellers,” she remarked.
“They seek to uncover the stories that give places meaning and we’re passionate about creating those transformative experiences for them.”
As part of the deal, Ascend Travel Group will provide local training, tailored sales support and marketing initiatives to help agents tap into demand for premium cultural travel.
“We’re very proud to be partnering with Martin Randall Travel in Australia,” Ascend Travel Group Co-Director Julie Primmer said.
“Its commitment to cultural excellence and seamless delivery aligns perfectly with the discerning expectations of our agent partners and their clients.”

In addition, MRT has secured preferred partnerships with CT Partners, Envoyage, Link Travel Group and Luxury Travel Collection (LTC).
“Our collaboration will ensure agents have the tools and expertise they need to present MRT’s unique cultural experiences effectively and confidently,” Ascend Travel Group Co-Director Lynda Wallace stated.
