1. Travelmarvel coastal cruises around Europe

Travelmarvel will introduce coastal cruising to its European porfolio next year, with two new products in its new 2016 Preview brochure.

The premium cruise and tour operator has combined a cruise along the Norwegian Coast with its best selling European Gems river cruise to create the new 21-day Norwegian Coastal Cruise with European Gems.

As well as the coastal sailing, the tour combines six days sailing aboard a contemporary Hurtigruten ship from Klirkenes to Bergen, with a 15-day Travelmarvel river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest.

There are six departure dates available for the new itinerary, which is priced from $9,895 per person, twin share.

Also previewed in the brochure is Travelmarvel’s new 14-day premium Mediterranean cruising aboard the MV Aegean Odyssey.

The new cruise sails from Istanbul to Venice on 31 July 2016 or in reverse departing Venice on 13 August 2016.

Travelmarvel is offering 2016 at 2015 pricing and free cabin upgrades on all bookings made from its Europe River Cruising 2016 preview brochure before 7 May 2015.

 

2. Infinity to Tassie

Infinity Holidays has electronically released its 2015-16 Tasmania brochure, which isn’t scheduled to hit shelves until 3 February 2015.

The new brochure features a range of new product in the Australian state, including a genre page containing ideas for romantic or luxury getaways.

The genre page also features the Saffire Freycinet, which won best boutique hotel in the world. Also inside the brochure are a number of new tours such as the Bruny Island Long Weekend, National Park Passes and a Canyoning Tour at Cradle Mountain.There are also half a dozen new hotels.

 

3. Six new Aus/NZ short breaks with AAT Kings

AAT Kings has released its 2015/16 Australia & New Zealand Brilliant Breaks brochure featuring six new breaks ranging from two- to- nine days.

Among the new itineraries is a seven-day ‘Tropical Tails’ tour exploring the tropical scenery of far north Queensland. The trip includes visits to Mossman Gorge, Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda Scenic Railways and Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures.

Priced from $1,375 per person, the tour also includes an indigenous guide who demonstrates traditional plant use, dreamtime legends and the history of cave painting.

There’s also a four-day ‘Margaret River Win & Wilderness’ itinerary taking foodies to Margaret River’s wineries and breweries.

As well as enjoying locally made wine, guests will have lunch at Cape Mentelle and take a guided tour through Mammoth Cave. The tour is priced from $1,255 per person twin share.

 

4. Discover Turkey with Peter Sommer

Peter Sommer Travels is preparing to explore some of Turkey’s most spectacular coastline in an expedition that combines walking ancient trails with cruising aboard a traditional Turkish yacht.

The itinerary features in the new Peter Sommer Travels 2015 program with journeys in Turkey, Greece and Italy.

Designed for small groups with a passion for history, scenery, archaeology and the outdoors, the eight-day itinerary ‘Walking & Cruising Western Lycia’ offers a chance to explore remote sites, ancient ruins and secluded bays along Turkey’s stunning south coast.

An initial departure, from 28 April to 5 May 2015, will be hosted by archaeologist Dr Richard Bayliss, who has excavated and surveyed ancient sites across Turkey.

A second departure, from 10 to 17 October 2015, will be hosted by archaeologist and documentary producer Peter Sommer, who once walked more than 3000km across Turkey following in the footsteps of Alexander the Great.

They will each lead groups of no more than 14 people along some of the best sections of the Lycian Way, an acclaimed walking trail that links coastal paths, Roman roads and hilltop goat tracks.

Highlights include walking Roman roads and the route of a 2000-year-old Roman aqueduct, exploring remote archaeological sites like the ancient hill town of Sidyma, and discovering Kekova, one of the most romantic and picturesque areas on the Turkish coast.

‘Walking & Cruising Western Lycia’ is priced from $3,670 for the April departure, or from $4,000 for the October departure.
