Travelling to Fiji? Arrival testing is gone, but here's what you need to know

In case you missed it, the Fijian Government has announced that from May 1, fully vaccinated visitors to Fiji will no longer be required to produce a pre-arrival negative test, in a move that reduces costs for travellers and makes it even easier to travel to paradise.

In case you missed it, the Fijian Government has announced that from May 1, fully vaccinated visitors to Fiji will no longer be required to produce a pre-arrival negative test, in a move that reduces costs for travellers and makes it even easier to travel to paradise.

Fiji had already dropped the three-day resort quarantine requirement in early April and has now paved the way for hassle-free holidays for all from Sunday, 1 May.

This means that travelling to the paradise islands is now almost restriction-free, but there are still some simple, but important regulations you need to know before you depart.

Updated requirements to travel to Fiji from 1 May

Fiji Airways
  • You’ll need to show proof of vaccination for all those 16 years old and above travelling when you check-in at the airport to travel
  • You’ll also need to show proof of valid travel insurance when you check-in at the airport to travel
  • Finally, you’ll need to confirm a RAT test booking from entrytestfiji.com within 48-72 hours of your arrival in Fiji. In Fiji, costs for a RAT test start from $30FJD (AUD$20)
  • You can undertake your RAT test at a health centre in Fiji or better, at your hotel or resort. To find out if your hotel or resort offers a testing service, click here.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO, Andre Viljoen said, “Fantastic news from the Fijian Government this morning to make travel to Fiji easier and safer as vaccination rates continue to climb in our key markets.

“On the cusp of the high season, we’d already booked in big numbers of arrivals from Aussies and Kiwis looking to swap the winter weather for Fijian paradise. With this news, we expect even bigger numbers, and we’ll be ramping up our service in response.”
