1. The Marriott Mobile App

The Marriott Mobile App will make it easier for the global hotel chain’s guests to access a wide variety of services related to their stay.

The app allows guests to make hotel reservations at nearly 4,000 hotels and resorts across 70 countries and is also equipped with a GPS to find a hotel near you if you find yourself in a new city.

Apart from making checking in and out much easier the app also lets you access photos of hotels and view amenities so that you can get a full picture before making a reservation.

The app is available to download from Apple App Store, Google Play and the Windows Phone Store.

 

2. Hilton’s new Mobile Phone Check In

Hilton has launch a new keyless check-in system allowing their guests to use their mobile phones as a key to open their hotel room doors.

With this new app hotel guests can say goodbye to physical room key cards and the worry about loosing them.

By 2016 a total of 170,000 rooms will feature keyless check-in in 250 hotels across the Hilton Hotel, Conrad, Waldorf Astoria and Canopy brands.

 

3. The Accor Hotels App allows easy access to hotel information

Accor Hotels has announced the release of its very own Apple Watch app, which allows users to access a whole range of services and information through their mobile phones.

Hotel guests can easily access information regarding their bookings as well as maps of the hotel and its surroundings and local weather forecasts.

 

4. Check in to a hotel with your fingerprint

Singapore-based start-up GTRIIP is using biometrics to simplify hotel check-ins.

By developing a mobile phone app linking specific biometric data to a travellers’ unique fingerprint it will enable guests to use this information as their ID verification and proof of booking.

This clever innovation will eliminate the need to present passports and physical IDs when checking in and is especially appealing to hotel chains who want to reduce the lengthy reception check-in times.

By identifying themselves through fingerprints the guests could simply bypassing the front desk altogether.
