Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has revealed that it will deploy three ships to the Asia Pacific region for the first time in 2024 and 2025.
After its recent journey down under, Norwegian Spirit will return to Australian and New Zealand waters for the third straight year for the 2024-25 summer cruise season, while Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Sky will join Spirit to cruise Asia.
“Our expanded presence in the Asia Pacific is testament to our long-term commitment to this region and its importance to our company as both a source market and a destination,” Norwegian Cruise Line Asia Pacific managing director and vice president Ben Angell said.
“I’m thrilled that guests from all over the world will have more choice than ever before to explore our stunning region, and that more Australian guests will have the opportunity to experience the NCL difference while cruising from their very own doorstep.”

Between October 2024 and March 2025, Norwegian Spirit will operate sailings around Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, including the brand’s first call to the Cook Islands, as well as a new voyage to Asia.
Spirit highlights include a 14-day Australia: Brisbane, Cairns, Lombok & Darwin cruise from Sydney to Bali in December 2024, two voyages in the South Pacific between Sydney, Australia and Papeete, Tahiti departing November 2024 and March 2025, and a 16-day South Pacific: Fiji, Moorea & Samoa cruise from Papeete, Tahiti to Auckland, New Zealand in November 2025.

More intimacy, new destinations
Meanwhile, Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Sky will make their debut in Asia with an eight-month season from October 2024 to May 2025.
With guest capacities of 1,936 and 2,004 respectively, the Sun and Sky offer more intimate sailing experiences thanks in part to their ability to access smaller ports.
Along with the brand’s first port of call to Akita, Japan in October 2024, highlights include:
- Japanese spring cherry blossom cruises aboard Norwegian Sky with Japanese autumn foliage cruises aboard Norwegian Sun
- Asia cruises aboard both Norwegian Sky and Sun that take guests to destinations in Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines
- A 14-day Asia: Thailand, Vietnam & Indonesia cruise from Bali to Singapore in December 2024 via lesser-known Indonesian islands aboard Norwegian Spirit
- A 17-day Asia: Maldives, Thailand & Seychelles trip from Mauritius to Singapore across the Indian Ocean.
