From Bose to Burberry: Velocity’s 1 Point Rewards Store expands to three cities

Velocity Frequent Flyer is bringing its 1 Point Rewards Store back, and this time it’s going national.

Velocity Frequent Flyer is bringing its 1 Point Rewards Store back, and this time it’s going national.

Following its 2023 debut in Melbourne, where eager crowds lined up for the chance to swap a single point for high-value rewards, the pop-up store will now hit three cities.

The first stop is Sydney’s Pitt Street on Friday 22 August, with Brisbane and Melbourne to follow.

The store’s concept is simple: one point equals one reward. That could mean Dyson Airwrap multi-stylers, Bose QuietComfort headphones, Burberry and Prada fragrances, Virgin Australia flights or VA Lounge access.

Each event runs for one day only, with doors opening at 8am.

Members can redeem one item per location, adding urgency to the experience.

Beyond rewards, each store will feature claw machines, mystery prize carousels and product shelves hidden with surprises.

And if you’re short on points? Virgin staff will show customers how to earn instantly through partners like 7-Eleven, AGL, DiDi, DoorDash and Flybuys.

According to Virgin Australia, recent research shows nearly 60 per cent of loyalty members want more achievable perks, something it says this campaign aims to deliver.

“Velocity is all about getting our members to rewards faster and the 1 Point Rewards Store puts the spotlight on that,” Velocity Frequent Flyer CEO Nick Rohrlach said.

“With Velocity, earning Points is easy and fast. You don’t need to spend big or wait long for your next reward – spending daily on things like your morning coffee, a tank of fuel, weekly grocery shop or mobile phone bill could get you there in no time.”
