To better understand what families want from their holidays, Family Travel asked the experts – Aussie families themselves.
Over four months this year, they conducted a survey asking families their favourite destinations, hotels, activities and travel providers.
Family Travel received a whopping 120,000 unique responses in over 70 categories used to create a list of the best of the best for families.

Best of Australia
The Gold coast took out the best city for a long weekend with kids, Sydney was voted in as the best capital city in Australia for families while Dubbo scored the best regional destination for families.
The Australia Zoo was the favourite animal attraction for littlies while Questacon was the best educational attraction.
The best serviced apartment brand for families was Mantra while the favourite Australian ski resort was Thredbo.
Best of International
Disneyland California was voted in as the very best international attraction for families while Hawaii took out the overall best holiday destination.
Meanwhile. Singapore was chosen as the most family-friendly destination in Asia and Italy came in first in Europe.
The top family hotel or resort in Bali was Hardrock Hotel, in mainland USA it was Disneyland Resort and Europe it was, surprise surprise, Disneyland Hotel Paris.
Best Travel Providers
When it came to the best car rental company for families Budget was the most popular while P&O was the favourite cruise line.
Qantas was voted in as the overall best airline for families while the humble ipad was the winning thing to keep the kids entertained while travelling
Intrepid was the favourite family tour company and Blonde Nomads took out the best family travel blog
