It’s pretty exciting that Pacific Dawn is the first P&O ship to sail with new livery and slogan. But her recent 10-day multi-million dollar makeover included more than just a paint job.
In fact, her exterior and interior features are so different, one could say she’s almost a completely new ship.
KarryOn has compiled a list of what’s new on the Australian ship, to help you sell Pacific Dawn itineraries to your clients.
So what’s new on Pacific Dawn?
The most obvious change is her new outfit. The Brisbane-based ship now features a navy white strip across the sides. The new livery is supported with the ‘Like No Place on Earth’ tagline, which has been emblazed across the ship’s stern.
The poolside now has a ‘resort-style’ feel, with fresh turf, new water features, lighting enhancements and private seating decks. P&O says changes to the poolside set the tone for what guests can expect aboard forthcoming vessels, Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden.
Get ready for some fun! Pacific Dawn is the line’s second ship to be fitted with P&OEdge Adventure Park activities.
P&OEdge was first unveiled aboard Pacific Jewel last year, with 20 onboard activities including the Titanic moment – where guests can be photographed as Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the James Cameron movie – a Flying Fox, Aft Funnel Climb, Laser Tag, Rope Swings and Bungee Tramp.
Dawn was fitted with 19 adrenaline rides such as the funnel climb, bungy tramp, Titanic moment and flying fox.
There’s also a new activity called Walk the Plank, which extends off the side of the top deck; a second flying fox; a Crow’s Nest, which offers panoramic views above the ship; and a Boulder Wall for thrilling rock climbing.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Dawn also has racing car simulators allowing guests to race circuits like Mount Panorama.
Once the fun is over, guests can head down to the refreshed Waterfront restaurant, which has been painted with a blue palette.
Jumping onboard the Japanese trend at sea, Dawn’s Asian-specialty restaurant, Luna offers a new Japanese menu, with traditional sushi.
Other changes were also made to the promenade deck, public areas and staterooms, while the line’s new VIP in-room service has been introduced to offer extra services such as express ironing and shoe shining.
