The Australian federal government has set a target of 80% of the population to be fully vaccinated before we can move to a phase when we can move freely and safely and travel again.

At the current rate of vaccinations and vaccine availability, it’s estimated that the nation will approximately achieve this number around November 12.

Getting vaccinated is our passport to ceasing lockdowns, being able to support and protect communities, travel safely and reconnect with loved ones again in and outside of Australia.

Not to mention, of course, finally allowing more stranded Australians to return home to be reunited with loved ones.

You can find out more about getting vaccinated at the government site: health.gov.au

While it's a deeply personal and often divisive topic, if you want to help educate and inspire more of the Australian public to consider getting vaccinated when they can, you can assist in many ways to show your support for the rollout.

Tourism Australia has created a toolkit of digital assets for the travel and tourism industry to share the COVID-19 vaccination message far and wide.

You can download the kit here.

Get creative as the #BeTravelReady campaign allows anyone to upload a short video message of hope where they will be edited together to create a chorus of tailored videos for social, media and government lobbying.

The initiative was started by Travel Advisor Linda Forster from TravLin Travel, who says, “We need as many people as possible to get behind this #VaxReady #BeTravelReady campaign."

“All you need to do is follow the very simple instructions on AFTA’s vloggi site to add your voice and face and help us encourage as many Australians as possible to get vaccinated whilst also using the opportunity to remind them that we as travel industry professionals are keen to get them “travel-ready”.

You can join the campaign here.
