What happens when your luxury product just isn’t luxurious enough? You take it up a notch.

Australian travel company Luxury Escapes has unveiled a dedicated platform within its website for those looking for more luxury than just luxury.

Called Ultra Lux, the venture vows to offer the world’s “very best hotels, resorts, tours and cruises”. As opposed to just the best

According to a recent Luxury Escapes study, travel topped Australians’ discretionary spend list in 2023. Other research from Bain & Company shows spending on high-end goods and experiences grew by around 20 per cent in 2022.

So, with luxe travel clearly booming, Luxury Escapes thought they would up the ante by further curating a selection of some of the world’s most upmarket experiences.

With the new product, Ultra Lux customers will also have access to a 24/7 premium concierge service and complimentary airport transfers from home.

Among Ultra Lux’s accommodation partners are One & Only Resorts, Six Senses, Mandarin Oriental, COMO and Intercontinental plus properties such as Maldives’ Soneva Fushi, New York City’s The Plaza, and Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal.

Luxury cruise partners include Silversea, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn and Ponant.

“With more consumers looking to book those once-in-a-lifetime holidays, we’re excited to bring exceptional luxury travel to even more people around the world.”

Luxe findings

In the Luxury Escapes Travel Trends 2023 survey, three in five (60 per cent) respondents said they planned on spending more on travel this year than they did pre-pandemic, with most intending to spend more than $10,000 on each international holiday (of 2 nights or more) in 2023.

Meanwhile, three in ten (28.75 per cent) respondents said they would take a bucket list holiday in 2023.

At the recent Virtuoso Australia and New Zealand Forum, Virtuoso General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Fiona Dalton revealed that total hotel bookings for Virtuoso in 2023 were up a whopping 135 per cent on the high water-mark of 2019.
