Two of the trendiest venues in Ibiza are turning guests into V.I.Bs and keeping their valuables right where they need to be.
A few years ago, on a misadventure around the Greek Islands, a dear friend and I found ourselves in front of a “last resort” venue. We had endured an eight hour pub crawl, admitted defeat after the first four hours and began dolling out our drink vouchers.
However, apparently in the process we were so “generous” we decided to hand out our wallets, mobile phones and our hotel key cards.
Either that, or a fellow crawler was not satisfied with only receiving our drink cards and, instead, decided to help themselves to our valuables.
All in all, we were stranded.
Luckily for us, there were a few fellow crawlers who were happy to escort our miserable selves back to our hotel and guide us through the even more miserable process of retrieving our valuables.
Had this happened today and had we been partying on Ibiza, we could have been spared the misfortune.
Become a V.I.B
It seems the Greek Islands isn’t the only place people tend to misplace their valuables and end up stranded (go figure).
Hearing the cries of many a stranded tourist, several venues in Ibiza decided to concoct a clever little concept.
The smart bracelets allow guests to unlock and lock hotel rooms, check-in, access guest-only areas and pay for on-site products and services via an assigned PIN code.
Wearers can also sync their bracelet with social media accounts.
Each bracelet’s functionality can be adapted to suit guest preferences, and all personal information is protected for the duration of the stay.
No more misplaced valuables. No more waiting for hours on a curb wishing you had Dorothy’s ruby red slippers to take you home. No mess. No fuss.
While the reviews are not yet in, the tech world is champing at the bit the sample these convenient little wrist ATM’s.
Only thing is, wear with caution. You lose your bracelet, you’ll be sharing the curb with my misfortunate friend and I.
Enjoy this without having to worry about losing your valuables, or your sanity!
What do you think? Can a bracelet put an end to misplaced mishaps?
