1. YOTEL puts you to sleep with ‘Yawn’- Campaign

post1

In April 2015 the low-cost hotel chain YOTEL introduced SmartBeds to the brand’s New York flagship hotel.

The SmartBed is as clever as its name suggests and serves as a multi-purpose mattress that can be converted from a flatbed to a sofa at the touch of a button. Not too surprisingly the SmartBed was designed to offer a multi-functional space for both work and sleep.

The innovative hotel chain also launched ‘Yawn’: an in-house sleep-promoting campaign that includes a visual and audio soundtrack developed by a documentary filmmaker which promises to put even to the most restless of guests to sleep.

2. A night at the Formula One Grand Prix

Avid Formula One fans were able to watch the Sepang race live from their living room (literally!).

Airbnb is all about offering unique accommodation experiences and as part of their ‘A Night At’ series of events the innovative accommodation provider transformed a grandstand corporate suite at the 2015 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix into a hotel suite.

Formula One fans were able to get all the action live from the suite which featured a bedroom, bathroom and living room overlooking a sharp bend of the Sepang circuit.

3. Hotel Cafe Royal served up “Bold and magnetic smoky wood”- cocktails

post

In Q2 2015, London hotel Café Royal partnered with Givenchy to launch a series of seven cocktails mirroring the color, personality and taste of the L’Atelier de Givenchy luxury perfume collection.

Cocktails included the Oud Flamboyant, which included Japanese whisky and mandarin juice to produce a “bold and magnetic smoky wood” flavour and the Cuir Blanc, a Martini-style cocktail made using Siberian pine needle extract to give a “woody and fresh taste”.

The Atelier Collection of Cocktails was available exclusively at Café Royal’s Green Bar and started at AUD$25.65.

App for singles with itchy feet

post3

Single and booked a solo-trip? Then you might want to download the new dating app Wander for your next overseas endeavor.

The free mobile app enables users to discover other singles that are travelling to the same or similar destinations.  Like the (in)-famous Tinder app the ‘match’ is made when two users like each other’s profiles. Once the ‘match’ is made the users can start chatting to each other and plan a meet-up IRL.

The Singapore-developed app has become an instant hit amongst travelling singles and generated 25,000 ‘matches’ the first month according to founder Krysal Choo.

Download the app here.
