Aussies keen to follow in the footsteps of the Anzacs in Europe can now book Back-Roads Touring’s 2025 Battlefields Collection trips to significant World War I sites in France and Belgium, including a special dawn service at Villers-Bretonneux.
The carefully curated, small-group tours feature battlefields and monuments with compelling commentary and insights from expert historic battlefield trip leaders, including some who have previously served, and local guides.
The 2025 collection includes the six-day Anzac on the Western Front itinerary with departures from May – October from AUD$2,669 per person and a six-day WWI Battlefields guided tour, departing April – October, priced from $2,399 per person.
An April 2025 Anzac on the Western Front: Dawn Service seven-day itinerary includes a stirring Dawn Service at the Australian War Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, priced from $3,499 per person.

With each small-group departure capped at 18 people, the tours offer an intimate opportunity for Aussies and Kiwis to experience the popular and important pilgrimage.
Back-Roads Touring Global Sales General Manager David Gendle said the company is proud to offer travellers the chance to honour this history with curated tours.
“We are encouraging our customers to learn more about this important period of history,” he said.

“They can walk in the footsteps of heroes and learn extensively about the crucial role they played in the fight for freedom.
“Our group sizes are small, meaning the experiences will be intimate and always handled sensitively.”
Australian customer Beteena, who travelled on a Battlefields tour coinciding with 11 November, added: “It was special to be able to be there on Remembrance Day, a memory that we will always treasure.”
