Locked-in pricing: Back-Roads scraps post-booking surcharges for Aussie travellers

Back-Roads Touring launches a Zero Surcharge Policy locking in tour prices on bookings made before 30 September 2026 for departures to 31 December 2027.

Back-Roads Touring has launched a Zero Surcharge Policy that locks in tour prices at the point of booking, covering all UK and Europe bookings made before 30 September 2026 for departures up to 31 December 2027.

Small-group travel operator Back-Roads Touring will no longer apply post-booking surcharges, absorbing any increases in fuel, exchange rates and supplier operating costs that would normally be passed on to travellers after they have paid their deposit.

The Zero Surcharge Policy applies to all existing and new bookings made before 30 September 2026 for departures up to 31 December 2027. In short, once a booking is confirmed, the price quoted is the price the client pays.

For Aussie travellers booking the operator’s UK and Europe itineraries, where currency swings and fuel costs can move sharply between deposit and departure, it removes a common source of post-sale bill shock.

What the policy covers

Back-Roads Touring – Zero Surcharge Policy
Back-Roads is committed to providing certainty to Aussie travellers on UK and Europe bookings.

Under the policy, Back-Roads will absorb increases in three areas that ordinarily trigger a surcharge: fuel, exchange rates and supplier operating costs. The cover is automatic on eligible bookings with no action required from the traveller once the booking is confirmed.

Back-Roads Touring General Manager APAC Anna Fawcett said the policy reflects the brand’s commitment to providing certainty in an increasingly unpredictable travel environment.

“Travellers are looking for confidence and transparency when planning their holidays, right now more than ever,” she said.

Back-Roads has launched a Zero Surcharge Policy for Aussie travellers.

“We know many travellers are concerned about rising costs and the possibility of additional charges being added after they’ve booked. That’s why we’re absorbing increases in fuel, exchange rates and supplier costs on eligible bookings to give customers that confidence.

“Simply put, once your booking is confirmed, your tour price is locked in,” she said.

The surcharge guarantee builds on Back-Roads’ current Price Freeze campaign, which lets travellers secure a 2027 departure at 2026 prices until 30 September. Combined, the two initiatives lock in both the departure price and the final tour cost, with no additional surcharges applied after booking.

The customer guarantee also follows a separate push to reward advisors with Back-Roads recently counting every Aussie booking twice towards a free tour through its Sell 12 Double Down Booster.
