The FIFA World Cup has officially kicked off in Russia. The athletes in this competition are all incredible on the field, but have you noticed a lot of them are also very easy on the eyes?

We’ve done the hard work for you (and trust us, it wasn’t easy to pick), looking through the teams of gorgeous men to narrow it down to the sizzling top 10.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present the sexiest players of 2018.

1. Joshua Risdon, Australia

Of course, we were always going to support the Aussie team but an athletic fullback like Joshua Ridson just makes it all that much easier to keep our eyes on the field.

2. Olivier Giroud, France

We knew the players on the French team were going to be steaming hot, but powerful forward Olivier Giroud is taking it to a whole new level.

3. Gerard Pique, Spain

Sorry. Did you say something? We were lost in this Spanish soccer player’s eyes.

4. Andre Silva, Portugal

Andre World Cup

Suddenly I feel like the Portuguese team needs our undivided attention. Soccer really is good for the abs.

5. Nicolai Jorgensen, Denmark

This sexy Scandinavian alone is reason enough to watch the cup.

7. Alireza jahanbakhsh , Iran

Alireza Jahanbakhsh

Even with his shirt on, this Iranian player is mighty fine to watch on the field.

8. Neymar Jr, Brazil

It’s men like Neymar that make us thankful that soccer players feel the need to take their shirts off to celebrate a victory.

9. Andre Carrillo, Peru

Oh, and guys like Andre Carrillo too.

10. Fabian schar, Switzerland

Why so serious Fabian? It’s ok, you pull off blue steel so well.

And because realistically it’s not fair to narrow it down to 10, we are throwing in a bonus image of Japan’s gorgeous Yoshinori mutō just to leave you smiling.

All of these guys are captivating , it’s true. But flick on the 2018 World Cup any time over the next month and you’ll realise that sexy and soccer just kind of go together.
