The Soloshot 3 is like travelling with your own film crew

The selfie revolution has entered a new phase with the 3rd generation of the robot cameraman – the Soloshot 3 – able to capture your every move from up to 600 metres away.

The selfie revolution has entered a new phase with the 3rd generation of the robot cameraman – the Soloshot 3 – able to capture your every move from up to 600 metres away.

Now this is a pretty sweet piece of technology for those that love to see themselves on camera, but lack the financial resources to roll with an entire film crew.

First there was the humble selfie.

Then there was the GoPro.

And now there’s the Soloshot 3.

The Soloshot 3 is basically an automatic cameraman designed to capture photos and video of you while you’re surfing, water skiing, skateboarding or just about any kind of activity where you move around.

So no, you don’t have to convince a mate to come with to film your antics.

As it’s portable and relatively light weight, it’s also perfect for travellers on an active holiday too.

Check it out in action here!

So how does it work?

Basically, you mount the Soloshot 3 on a tripod, wear a special tag and the cool device does the rest, automatically tracking your every move.

It pans, tilts and even zooms to keep you in the frame while you do your thing for up to 600 metres away and for up to three hours.

Other features of the Soloshot include automatic editing, easy sharing across social media channels, live streaming capabilities, the ability to track multiple tags, plus much more.

Although originally designed for sport enthusiasts, we’re tipping that eventually the Soloshot 3 will be adopted by the general travelling public who see this new device as a means to capture their holiday adventures without the need for a documentary crew.

Just imagine the possibilities.

For example, you could setup the camera on a busy street in India and film yourself interacting with the locals.

(And don’t worry, to protect your investment from would-be theives, there are are loops on the tripod and base unit which allow a cable lock to be passed through and locked to something solid.)

Or you could film yourself playing soccer with street kids in Manilla.

Or you could even film yourself doing backflips off the top of waterfalls in Chiang Mai. Just be careful though, as selfie related deaths are now more common than shark attacks…
