NSW Food and Wine Festival kicks off this weekend

Treating Sydney to a month-long celebration of the world-class food and wine that our great State gives to Australia and the world, the NSW Food and Wine Festival kicks off this weekend.

Therefore the Growers’ Market will see one of Sydney’s most celebrated chefs Matt Moran taking the market stage for a special demonstration of recipes from his new book Matt’s Kitchen Garden, paired with NSW wines hand-selected by Aria sommelier Matt Dunne.

While you’re there, pick up some fresh produce sourced from all around our home state, some artisan cheese from the Australian Specialist Cheesemakers’ Association stall and treat yourself to a taste or two of some great NSW wine.

And that’s just the first day of the festival!

Also back and bigger than ever is the Sydney Cellar Door, which from Friday, 27 February to Sunday, 1 March will transform Hyde Park into an idyllic NSW food and wine paradise offering a wealth of cellar doors and oenological discoveries from winemakers right across our diverse winemaking regions. Paired with food from some of Sydney’s favourite restaurants, don’t be surprised when you pop in for a tick and stay for a while.

The good news doesn’t stop there. The inaugural Sydney Morning Herald Lunar Markets presented by The Star will bring an Asian flair to the festival with an 11-day New Moon festival descending onto Pyrmont Bay Park from 12-22 February. Sample Asian street food from the full breadth of cuisines and welcome in the Lunar New Year.

A full program of events celebrating the State’s finest food and wine offerings runs right the way through to 1 March, with the return of festival favourites including Dine with NSW Wine, Sticky and Sweet, Sparkling Brunches and High Teas, Taste the Region, and Snacks and Street Food.
