Freedom Day for NSW is finally here and Virgin Australia is helping the state celebrate, today launching 50,000 sale fares on services between Sydney and Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour from just $49.
The airline says the bargain seats are a thank you to NSW residents who have rolled up their sleeves to get vaccinated.
The fares are available for travel from 1 November 2021 – shortly after the foreshadowed resumption of travel within NSW – and 23 June 2022.
NSW residents are encouraged to book the $49* regional sale fares before the sale ends at midnight AEST this Wednesday 13 October 2021, or until sold out.
Guests can book with complete confidence thanks to Virgin Australia’s Flexible Flying policy, which provides unlimited booking flexibility to change or cancel to travel credit without fees, for travel up to 28 February 2022.

“To celebrate today’s milestone and to thank the vast majority of New South Wales residents for doing the right thing and rolling up their sleeves to get vaccinated, we’re offering fares to Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour from just $49, until midnight this Wednesday,” said a Virgin Australia spokesperson.
“Virgin Australia is giving NSW residents every reason to make the most of the easing of restrictions and life after the foreshadowed resumption of intrastate travel on 25 October, by planning a change of scenery to enjoy their newfound freedoms.
“We’re so proud of New South Wales and we look forward to celebrating many more freedom days around the country as more Australians get vaccinated against COVID-19. Our industry relies on a connected nation and the quicker everyone is vaccinated, the quicker we can return to the people and the things we love, including travelling more freely.”
VA-X & Win entries

Virgin Australia says 205,000 vaccinated Australians have now entered Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer VA-X & Win competition.
First opened last month, fully vaccinated Australians have until 31 December 2021 to enter the national COVID-19 vaccination competition, with hundreds of prizes up for jabs, including one million Velocity Frequent Flyer Points.
